The Southern Arizona Institute of Transportation Engineers (SAITE) was chartered in November 2000 as a chapter of the Arizona Section of the International Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). The purpose of SAITE is to provide a forum for ITE members to network, share knowledge, and advance the greater objectives of ITE. The Southern Arizona Chapter encompasses members in Pima County, Cochise County, Santa Cruz County, Graham County, and Greenlee County. Institute members and state section affiliates who reside within these counties are eligible for membership in SAITE.

SAITE meets the third Friday of each month for lunch and informal presentations on a wide variety of multi-modal transportation topics. We usually meet at the Pima County Mission Road

complex (1313 S Mission Road, Tucson, AZ 85713)  in the Safety Conference Room. Please join us at these meetings to help us maintain an active, friendly, and informative traffic and transportation organization.

New chapter officers elected - New chapter officers were elected in May 2017 and will officially took office in September 2017 for the 2017-2018 year. The new officers were inducted in October at the joint SAITE/UAITE meeting held at the University of Arizona. The 2017-2018 officers are: President- Claudia Hunt; Vice President - Jason Freitas, EIT; and Secretary/Treasurer -  Joel Amarillas.  Our outgoing president, Robert Lane, PE, PTOE, will be serving in that position through September.

We are always looking for ways to improve!  If you have an idea for a luncheon topic (or are interested in presenting), technical tour, other activity, or any other way we can improve your experience, please let us know!  Feel free to contact any of the officers or the webmaster (Darlene Danehy) with any comments, concerns, or questions.  We appreciate your involvement and feedback!
