**Join us as the 2018-2019 officers are sworn in by David Lucas, the AZITE President. David will also give a brief overview of the OneITE status report before continuing with his main presentation (see below).**

Presentation: Overview and Progress Report on the Tempe Streetcar

The Tempe Streetcar is the first modern streetcar line in the Valley. It will serve one of the highest transit ridership centers in the region and connect riders to neighborhoods, major business centers, and regional events and destinations.

Presenter biography:

David Lucas, City of Tempe Transportation Systems Management Group

David is a Traffic Engineer in the City of Tempe’s Transportation Systems Management Group where he manages the City’s TMC and ITS infrastructure. He earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Systems Engineering from the University of Arizona and has nearly 25 years of experience in the ITS field. Prior to joining Tempe in 2012, he was a Research Engineer at both The University of Arizona and Arizona State University, where he managed a variety of ITS research projects in areas such as transit signal priority, adaptive ramp metering and adaptive signal control. David is a graduate of the National Operations Academy, Past Chair of the AZTech Operations Committee, current Vice Chair of the MAG ITS Committee, member of the ITS Arizona Board of Directors for the past five years and is the current President of the Arizona Section of ITE.

Lunch will start at 11:30, with the presentation beginning at 12:00 at the Pima County Complex at 1313 S. Mission Road in the Safety Conference Room. Please RSVP to by Wednesday, September 19. Cost is $10, but is free for students. We hope to see you there!
