Presentation: Emerging Technologies in Transportation Studies
New and evolving technological capabilities are changing the traditional approach for performing transportation studies. This presentation will provide an overview of how new visualization options (e.g. software, drones) and big data can enhance and benefit transportation analysis. Case studies from Arizona and California will also be presented, including examples of how the microsimulation software Vissim, drone footage, Miovision, and Streetlight were applied to project data collection, analysis, public involvement, and decision-making.
